Club chairman hints at another Man City transfer after Mahamadou Susoho injury

Manchester City have continued their trend of allowing several young talents to gain experience elsewhere during this summer’s transfer window. Alongside selling players like Liam Delap and Micah Hamilton, City have also sent academy prospects such as Callum Doyle and Luke Mbete out on loan to further their development.

Recently, the chairman of a club that has taken one of City’s youngsters on loan hinted that they might pursue another deal with Manchester City for a new player. This suggests that the club is looking to build a relationship with City by bringing in more of their promising young players, likely in an effort to strengthen their squad with emerging talent.

After witnessing Mahamadou Susoho suffer a thigh injury during the warm-up before Peterborough United’s recent Carabao Cup match against Oxford United, the club’s chairman, Darragh MacAnthony, addressed the situation on a recent episode of *The Hard Truth* podcast.

He stated, “Mo’s unavailability is going to create a problem for us because we are already at our cap limit.”

“Hopefully, a solution will be found. We have a great relationship with City, and perhaps they could offer us another player,” MacAnthony added. “But I’d prefer if Mo were fit and available, as he showed great promise in the Huddersfield game. If he’s not, we’ll have to look into signing someone else.”

Susoho has started his loan spell on a bad note

The 19-year-old Susoho had only joined Peterborough United on a season-long loan from Manchester City earlier this month. However, after Tuesday’s game, manager Darren Ferguson shared concerning news about Susoho’s injury.

Speaking to the *Peterborough Telegraph*, Ferguson explained, “He took a shot in the warm-up and felt a ‘pop’ in his thigh, and it does not look good. He’s really struggling and had difficulty walking after the game. He’s had this injury before and required surgery. I’m not saying it’s as severe, but I’m worried it could be a long-term issue.”

This unfortunate setback highlights the tough start Susoho has had with Peterborough, despite Ferguson describing him as a “really good” player after just one training session with the team.

As for MacAnthony’s suggestion that Manchester City might loan another young talent to Peterborough before the end of the month, this is definitely a situation worth monitoring closely.
