Matt Bloomfield: we are working hard to add more signings

Wycombe Wanderers manager Matt Bloomfield has indicated that he is still pursuing “a couple more things” this summer. Although pleased with his team’s progress, Bloomfield acknowledges that there is more work to be done before the transfer window closes at the end of August.

While much of the League One spotlight has been on Birmingham City’s significant spending, Bloomfield’s approach has been more understated. He remains optimistic about adding a few more players to his squad and, following a recent defeat to Swindon Town, emphasized his desire to address a few remaining issues.

Bloomfield’s ambition is evident as he continuously seeks to improve his team. When asked if he was content with his current squad, he replied, “I’m never happy with where we’re at; I always want to be better.”

Bloomfield, who is working closely with Dan Rice on recruitment, pointed out that recent performances, such as the match against Swindon, have highlighted areas that need improvement. With data-driven recruitment being a key focus since the club’s acquisition by Ocean Blue Partners II Limited in May, Bloomfield and Rice have been analyzing pre-season performances to identify and address the squad’s needs. The manager’s determination to enhance the team demonstrates his commitment to ensuring his squad reaches its full potential, even if it means making additional signings.
