Southend United midfielder Aiden Shehu has been offered a contract by Championship club Hull City.
Shehu has been with the Shrimpers since he was 15 and was a first-year scholar at Roots Hall last season.
He was also selected for Albania’s under-18 squad.

Joe Gubbins is confident that signing for Southend United will kick-start his career.
The 22-year-old has returned to Roots Hall on a permanent basis after leaving Queens Park Rangers earlier this summer.
Having had four loan spells in the past three seasons, Gubbins believes this move will be hugely beneficial.
“I wanted to get somewhere I could call home because I’ve never really had that as a first-team player,” said Gubbins. “Being on loan is different, but now I feel like it’s a really good time to kick on and I’m really looking forward to it. I feel like it’s a really big season for me to come and have an impact.”
Gubbins is no stranger to the Shrimpers, having played 10 times while on loan with the National League club back in 2022. That initial spell ultimately led to his decision to return.
“I’ve been in contact with the gaffer for a long time now, probably ever since the loan,” said Gubbins. “We’ve stayed in touch and we got something over the line this time, which I’m very happy about.”
Gubbins has performed strongly throughout pre-season and is enjoying preparing for the upcoming campaign.
“It has been good,” said the defender. “I’ve enjoyed having a solid base to start from and I wanted to make sure I got up and running quickly in pre-season. Obviously, it’s been very hard, but it’s been good, and we’re all looking forward to the games starting now.”
Gubbins has been impressed by his teammates and is optimistic about the season ahead.
“I’ve enjoyed the games and hopefully the fans have seen we have real potential this season,” said Gubbins. “The team is gelling pretty well and I think we can go and get promoted. The team has that in them and with the players we have, we’re more than capable of doing that. With the backing of the fans, I think we can do something special this year.”
