FC Halifax Town Announces Signing of Forward from league one side

FC Halifax Town is thrilled to confirm the signing of forward Zak Emmerson from League One side Blackpool.

Emmerson began his career at the Oldham Athletic academy and made his senior debut against Walsall in October 2019, becoming the second youngest player to play in the EFL, behind former Shayman Reuben Noble-Lazarus. In July 2020, the forward joined Brighton & Hove Albion’s development squad for an undisclosed fee. During his time with the Seagulls, Emmerson made two appearances for the England Under-18 squad, debuting in a 1-1 draw with Wales.

In his final season with Brighton, Emmerson netted 20 goals in 26 appearances for the development squad before moving to Blackpool, then a Championship side, for an undisclosed fee. Last season, the forward was loaned to National League South side Eastbourne Borough, where he scored five times in 11 league appearances as the Sports finished 19th.

Welcome, Zak!
