BREAKING: Cardiff have signed lock McNally from Bath

Cardiff has strengthened their squad by signing Josh McNally, a one-time capped England lock, from Bath.

The 33-year-old, also a sergeant in the Royal Air Force, joins Cardiff after spending five years with the English Premiership club.

McNally began his career at Henley Hawks in 2012 before stints at London Welsh and London Irish.

“Having started my career at London Welsh and with my wife’s family all hailing from Wales, I’ve always admired the rugby passion here, and I’m eager to fully immerse myself in the capital,” he commented.

“I am grateful to the Royal Air Force for granting me this opportunity. Their unwavering support throughout my career has been instrumental, and I wouldn’t be here without them.”

Cardiff has not disclosed the length of McNally’s contract.

An RAF technician, McNally earned a call-up to the England squad in 2021, making his sole appearance against the United States that year.

Cardiff head coach Matt Sherratt remarked, “With several senior figures departing or retiring in recent times, it was crucial to bring in players with experience and leadership qualities from top-tier environments, and I believe we’ve achieved that with Josh. He has been highly regarded both on and off the field during his tenure at Bath, earning praise from former coaches and teammates alike.”
