Eastleigh have completed the signing of another free agent

National League side Eastleigh FC have announced the signing of Tyrese Shade from League Two side Swindon Town, as confirmed via a statement on the club’s website.

The St. Kitts & Nevis international becomes Eastleigh’s fourth signing of the transfer window, joining on a free transfer after Swindon announced his departure following the expiration of his contract.

Shade’s Career So Far

Shade began his career with Solihull Moors before being quickly snapped up by Leicester City’s academy system in 2017. Despite not making a senior appearance for Leicester, he spent the 2021/22 season on loan with Walsall, playing 44 times before moving to Swindon the following season.

At Swindon, Shade made over 70 appearances across two seasons, scoring six goals and providing four assists. He was utilized in various positions including winger, forward, and wing-back. Last season, he was loaned to Solihull Moors in the National League before being released by Swindon this summer.

Last Season By The Numbers

During his loan spell at Solihull Moors, Shade made 19 appearances, scoring twice and assisting once. He played a key role in helping the team reach both the play-off final and the FA Trophy final. Operating mainly as a winger, Shade achieved a 73% dribble success rate and an 86% pass accuracy, demonstrating his offensive prowess and ability to trouble opposition defenses. He also averaged 0.7 key passes per game and had a 38% cross accuracy, showcasing his efficiency in finding teammates in dangerous positions.

Where Does Shade Fit At Eastleigh?

Shade’s addition significantly enhances Kelvin Davis’s attacking options. He resembles the departing Enzio Boldewijn, being a tricky winger capable of playing out wide or as a wing-back. Shade’s versatility will be an asset for Davis, who has alternated between a back three and back four.
