Cardiff City and Wrexham  battle for Millwall player

Wrexham has expressed interest in acquiring forward Tom Bradshaw from Millwall in this summer’s transfer window, as reported by the South London Press.

Bradshaw initially joined Millwall on loan from Barnsley in the summer of 2018 and later made the move permanent in the January 2019 transfer window.

Since then, the Welsh international has made 198 appearances in all competitions for Millwall, scoring 44 goals and providing 12 assists.

However, it appears that Bradshaw could be on the move again this summer, with increasing interest in his services.

According to the latest update, Wrexham is eager to secure a deal to sign Bradshaw as they prepare for the upcoming season. Phil Parkinson’s team secured their second consecutive promotion last season, setting the stage for their participation in League One during the 2024/25 campaign.

Thus far this summer, the Welsh club has completed one signing, bringing Arthur Okonkwo back on a permanent basis after his loan spell from Arsenal during the 2023/24 season.

As it stands, Bradshaw has one year left on his current contract with Millwall, which ties him to The Den until the end of this season.

This situation suggests that this summer could represent Millwall’s final opportunity to capitalize on his transfer value during this window.

Over the weekend, reports emerged indicating that Cardiff City, along with several other clubs, have inquired about Bradshaw’s availability this summer. It’s been suggested that the striker is expected to depart from Millwall before the beginning of the 2024/25 campaign.

In the previous season, Millwall finished 13th in the Championship standings, just one place and three points behind Cardiff City. Cardiff, in turn, ended the season 11 points shy of the playoff positions.

Phil Parkinson’s side could benefit from signing Tom Bradshaw.

Adding Bradshaw could prove beneficial for Wrexham in this summer’s transfer window. While the Red Dragons currently have several options for the center forward position, some lack experience at this level or haven’t been consistently prolific in League One in the past.

Therefore, Wrexham could potentially gain from adding someone like Bradshaw, who possesses ample experience not only in League One but also in the Championship.

That could indeed make him a valuable asset for Wrexham, especially considering his contract situation, which could make him an affordable target. With Championship clubs also interested in signing Bradshaw, securing him would be a significant coup for Wrexham, signaling their ambitious intentions for the upcoming campaign.

The competition for Bradshaw’s services appears to be shaping up as one to watch closely in the weeks ahead.
