2 CONSORTIUM members have flown back to England in a bid to quicken takeover of the club

Two members of the CONSORTIUM have returned to England to expedite the takeover of Southend United. This move suggests an increased urgency and commitment to finalizing the acquisition process.

The involvement of these key figures may indicate that significant developments or decisions are expected soon regarding the club’s ownership.

Rees will arrive from Australia on Monday morning, while Brown has returned from Hong Kong ahead of a crucial day for the future of the Shrimpers.

Last week, the consortium announced their efforts to take immediate control of the club after the National League demanded a £1 million bond to ensure the Blues could meet their fixtures for the upcoming season unless there was a change in ownership.

The Shrimpers have appealed this decision as takeover negotiations continue with Ron Martin. However, the Echo reports there is now an issue with the previously committed £20 million contribution to the Roots Hall development.

The National League continues to monitor the situation while considering their next steps.
