League One Clubs In Intense Battle For Millwall Star

Tom Bradshaw, a key player at Millwall, has garnered interest from several Championship and League One clubs as he heads into the final year of his contract.

Neil Harris’ squad relies heavily on the 31-year-old, who is one of just two senior strikers alongside Kevin Nisbet. This situation has prompted the club to pursue the signing of Notts County’s influential captain, Macaulay Langstaff.

With only one year left on his contract, this could be one of the last opportunities for Millwall to secure a transfer fee for Bradshaw. While they could consider selling him in January, nearing the end of the season may encourage clubs to wait, risking losing him for free if injuries occur.

Reportedly, several unnamed clubs have approached Millwall with offers, anticipating a possible cut-price deal due to Bradshaw’s contract situation. His previous clubs include Barnsley, Shrewsbury Town, Walsall, and Aberystwyth.

How he performed for Millwall?

The Welsh international featured in 34 Championship matches, contributing four goals and three assists, often making an impact off the bench for more than half of his available games.

The potential arrival of Langstaff could see him slipping further down the squad hierarchy, potentially limiting his playing time. This situation might prompt him to seek a transfer as he enters his early thirties.

With over 260 appearances in the Championship and 57 goals in the second tier, a prospective deal represents an opportunity to bring significant experience to the squad, along with a proven, though not always prolific, goal scorer.

He has achieved over 15 goals in a season on three occasions in his career: during the 2022/23 season in the Championship for Millwall, and in consecutive seasons between 2014 and 2016 for Walsall in League One.
