Former St Mirren man excited to return

St Mirren Football Club is thrilled to announce that Jaden Brown has rejoined the club on a permanent basis, signing a two-year contract. The 25-year-old full-back originally joined the Saints in January on loan from Lincoln City and made eight appearances for the Buddies.

Despite limited game time, Jaden impressed the coaching staff during his loan spell, prompting manager Stephen Robinson to secure his addition to the squad permanently.

Jaden, who has been capped by England at the under-19 level, began his career at Tottenham Hotspur but left for Huddersfield Town without making a senior appearance for Spurs. He made 31 appearances for Huddersfield before joining Sheffield Wednesday in 2021. At Wednesday, he was part of the team that earned promotion to the English Championship last season. After his contract expired, he moved to Lincoln City in July 2023, where he made 15 appearances.

Speaking to stmirren.com upon his return, Jaden said: “I’m buzzing to be back. I loved my time on loan here last season. I didn’t get as many games as I wanted, but it’s important to be in and around good people, and it was a successful group, qualifying for Europe.”

Manager Stephen Robinson commented: “I don’t think people have seen the best of Jaden yet. He arrived here with limited game time, but towards the end of his loan, we were really impressed with his performance.

“We had no direct competition for Scott Tanser at left-wing back, so it was crucial to bring in someone to provide that level of competition.

“Jaden can also play in various positions further forward and on the right-hand side, which certainly strengthens our squad. It makes the fight for starting places harder for everyone, and that’s how you progress.”
