Wolverhampton Wanderers are on the verge of losing a promising young talent to Premier League rivals Liverpool. Midfielder Alvin Ayman is reportedly nearing a permanent transfer to Liverpool, likely for a nominal fee as Wolves navigate the deal.

The 16-year-old arrived at Wanderers just last August after leaving Bradford City, where he spent seven years. Now, Liverpool’s interest has intensified, and they are hopeful of completing the transfer.

Freelance journalist David Lynch informed Anfield Index: “The deal is close to completion. Liverpool believe he’s a significant talent and are working on agreeing a fee that avoids the need for a tribunal. They are quite confident.”

Ayman has reportedly attracted interest from several ‘big six’ Premier League clubs, so Liverpool’s proactive approach is not surprising. Despite interest from Manchester United, Liverpool’s swift action appears to have put them in the lead.

Who is Liverpool target Alvin Ayman?

The Wolves teenager is versatile, capable of playing in defensive midfield or at centre-back, and he has already earned international recognition as a standby for England Under-17s last year.

Ayman has participated in only nine competitive youth matches for Wolves since joining approximately 11 months ago, with two of those appearances coming for the Under-21 side, showcasing his ability beyond his age group. His potential has impressed those at Wolves, leading to interest from clubs like Liverpool and others.

Gary O’Neil even included Ayman in a Premier League matchday squad a few months ago, inviting the young talent to join the senior players for the trip to Manchester City. While he wasn’t named in the final squad, the experience would have been invaluable for his development.
