Ex Bulls man returns to the club

Macarthur FC has bolstered their squad for the upcoming Isuzu UTE A-League season by signing midfielder Liam Rose to a two-year deal.

Rose, who was part of Macarthur FC’s inaugural squad in the 2020-21 season, is returning to Campbelltown after playing for USL Championship side El Paso Locomotive in the USA. He expressed his excitement about getting back on the field with Macarthur FC.

“I’m thrilled to be back playing for the Bulls and in front of our amazing members and fans,” said Rose after confirming his return to Australia. “I have fond memories of my time at the Bulls, and even while playing in America, I’ve closely followed the club. I’m eager to get back out there and give my all for you all!”

At 27 years old, Liam Rose, a defensive midfielder by trade, brings much-needed depth to Macarthur FC’s midfield following the departures of Charles M’Mombwa, Daniel De Silva, and Ali Auglah. Rose returns to the Isuzu UTE A-League where he initially made his mark playing for Central Coast Mariners. He joins Macarthur as their third signing of the off-season, following the acquisitions of former Sydney FC captain Luke Brattan and Melbourne City winger Marin Jakoliš.

Macarthur FC experienced a remarkable turnaround under Mile Sterjovski last season, bouncing back from a wooden spoon finish in 2022-23 to secure finals football with a fifth-placed finish. Their campaign ended in the Elimination Finals against Sydney FC, marking a significant improvement for the club.
