Former Carlisle United keeper weighing up options back home

Activated Tomas Holy, the keeper for Carlisle United, may be planning a trip back to his native Czech Republic.

The former Blues first-choice is considering his options following his summer departure from Brunton Park.

Holy, who was a standout in United’s 2022–2023 promotion campaign before being benched twice in the team last season, has reportedly received approaches from other teams.

The huge goalie is being considered by clubs in various nations, but it appears like he will play in the Czech Republic next.

Czech teams like FK Dukla Prague, Mlada Boleslav, Liberec, and Hradec Kralove are reportedly monitoring the 32-year-old, according to a report by inFotbal.cz.

The Manchester United gloveman is quoted in the report as adding, “But the Czech Republic is not my only option; clubs from Cyprus and Poland have contacted me.”

“After all these years, I do believe it’s time to go home, but it’s too soon to comment on specific negotiations at this time.”
