Two Warriors named in England squad

TWO WARRIORS HAVE BEEN ADDED TO ENGLAND WOMEN’S 19-PLAYER SQUAD TO FACE FRANCE IN TOULOUSE NEXT SATURDAY.

Stuart Barrow, England Women’s Head Coach, has named Wigan Warriors’ Anna Davies and Isabel Rowe to his travelling team for the first game of an international double-header against France at the Stade Ernest-Wallon.

Anna Davies has been in blazing form for the Warriors this season, scoring 14 tries in the opening rounds of the Betfred Women’s Super League, while Isabel Rowe, who has 11 tries in her first senior season, might make her international debut at the age of 17.

St Helens’ Katie Mottershead and Erin Stott, as well as Leeds Rhinos’ Izzy Northrop and Bella Sykes, have received their maiden international call-ups, joining Rowe.

Stuart Barrow, England Women’s Head Coach, commented on his squad selection: “It’s been a difficult decision on who to include, but I’m really delighted we’ve been able to identify some fresh faces this time round, including Katie Mottershead, Izzy Northrop, Isabel Rowe, Bella Sykes, and Erin Stott.

“The trip will be a fantastic experience for them, and I’m convinced that, with the assistance of our more senior internationals, they will be able to demonstrate the skill I know they all have when we take the pitch in Toulouse.

“We’re all looking forward to getting into camp on Thursday and preparing for what will be a tough game against France, who have just overcome Serbia in really tough conditions to qualify for the 2026 World Cup – we’re up for the challenge.”

England Women face France at 3.30pm (local time) on Saturday, June 29, followed by the Men’s international at 6pm. Both matches will be broadcast live from Stade Ernest-Wallon via Super League+, Rugby League’s global direct-to-consumer streaming service.

France Under 19s will play England Academy at Warrington’s Halliwell Jones Stadium on Tuesday, July 2 (KO 7.30pm).
