4-star DT Kevin Wynn has committed to the Florida State Seminoles

According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Florida State football’s recruiting class ranked 70th overall. Seminole supporters were furious about the lack of recruitment success considering Florida State’s 23-4 overall record in the previous two seasons.

Over nineteen formal visitors made for a huge recruiting weekend for the Seminoles coaching staff. You can read about the highlights of each recruit that visited in a recent post by clicking this link.

While tidbits are fine and all, supporters want to see a steady stream of promises. When they realise that bitter rivals Florida and Miami are attracting a wide range of recruits—I apologise, Dabo, but I didn’t want to bring up your team—some people begin to lose hope.

But on Monday, four-star defensive tackle Kevin Wynn from Greene County High School in Greensboro, Georgia, announced his commitment to the Seminoles, giving Florida State some much-needed positive news for their programme.

Coach of defensive tackles Odell Haggins does it again! Hopefully, the longest-serving assistant coach on the Seminoles’ coaching staff has set the precedent for many prospects to choose Florida State.

Wynn is listed at 6’2″ and 320 pounds on numerous recruiting databases. After his formal visit with Florida State, the defensive tackle informed numerous media members that the Seminoles felt like home to him. Wynn had never had an offer from Florida State before, so it had to be extra remarkable for the programme to be the first to take a bet on his potential before anybody else did.

The Seminoles held off the Georgia Bulldogs despite Kirby’s recruit status from the University of Georgia. It is highly probable that Florida State will have to substitute players like Joshua Farmer and Darrell Jackson Jr., who are capable of starting at defensive tackle.

Acquiring a player like four-star Kevin Wynn may establish a solid base in the position room.
