Former Woking FC man has returned to the club

The Woking Football Club is happy to announce Max Dyche’s loan signing.

On loan from Northampton Town until the end of the season, the 21-year-old central defender returns to the Cards.

After going through the Cobblers’ system, Dyche made his substitute debut against Crewe Alexandra in December 2020. Three days after making his debut for the team in a League One match against Oxford United, he made his first start for the team at Kassam Stadium.

Max scored his first goal as a senior at Kettering Town, where he would move on loan to play for National League North teams Brackley Town and Kettering Town in 2021–2022. He would later return to Northampton and participate in the team’s 2022–2023 promotion campaign, making 18 appearances in League Two, starting the final four games and scoring once against Bradford in the penultimate game. He completed the full ninety minutes of play as the Cobblers won 1-0 at Tranmere Rovers in May 2023 to secure promotion.

Dyche secured a new two-year contract with Northampton in the summer as a result of this. After spending a brief loan period at Aldershot Town in September and October of 2023, he went back to Northampton.

He had a great run with the Cards on his first loan period. Max made his debut in a 1-0 victory over Oldham Athletic after joining in late January. He went on to start all nine of the games he was available for and played every minute of them. During his loan, the Cards won four games and drew two. Early in March, after Northampton Town experienced an injury problem, he was called back up.

Woking Manager Michael Doyle stated, “Max has been on our target list for this season since before he was recalled in March.” Max’s versatility as a left, centre, or right back three player makes him even more essential to the team. Even though he is only 21, he plays with the maturity of a seasoned player, and we are eager for him to return.
