QPR Handed Boost As Target is Now a free agent

A target for Queens Park Rangers, has confirmed his exit from Paris Saint-Germain and will be free to sign with any team this summer.

Since leading QPR to safety six points below the cut line when he was selected as Gareth Ainsworth’s replacement back in October, Marti Cifuentes is eager to enhance his midfield unit in the upcoming months. The West London team finished the season with a winning run of three games, which put them six points above the drop zone and guaranteed them a spot in the Championship.

Since several prominent positions in England’s second division, notably those at Sunderland, Hull City, and Burnley, become available, the Spaniard has been linked to a transfer away from Loftus Road. But if the team decides to hang with their manager, the board ought to support him this summer.

The 41-year-old is obviously trying to get better in the middle of the park before the transfer window closes at the end of August. Moves for players like Isaac Hayden, who spent the second half of last season on loan at the club from Newcastle United, and Nordine Kandil from Strasbourg have already been mentioned in relation to Queens Park Rangers. Furthermore, Darren Witcoop disclosed on Monday afternoon that QPR was considering signing Marc Leonard, the star midfielder for Brighton & Hove Albion. However, the journalist added that teams in the Championship and League One were among the other suitors who were making a stronger push for Leonard’s signature.

But Ethan Mbappe, the brother of France captain Kylian Mbappe, has also surfaced in the media. The French publication Le Parisien first revealed in May that QPR had entered the hunt for Mbappe, who is expected to leave PSG at the end of June when his contract ends. However, Cifuentes’ team will have competition from European teams like Lille, Borussia Dortmund, and Ajax for Mbappe.

Ethan Mbappe, like his brother who is moving to Real Madrid, has formally confirmed he is leaving the Ligue 1 champions, which has given Queens Park Rangers an advantage in their pursuit of the 17-year-old’s signature.

The youthful midfielder posted the following on social media [quotes via Fabrizio Romano on X]:

“I bid you farewell and thank you, PSG, in the name of my true love.”

Queens Park Rangers will have a difficult time acquiring Mbappe this summer since teams like Dortmund and Ajax, who are known for producing young players and quickly selling them for large sums of money, are also vying for his services.

Even so, QPR can provide him with more reliable first-team playing time, something the other suitors might not be able to provide at this time. While unlikely, there is a chance that Mbappe will relocate to West London in the upcoming weeks.
