Hartlepool United To snatch Midfielder From National League Rivals

A midfielder for Oldham Athletic, is expected to sign a contract with Hartlepool United, making him Darren Sarll’s third summer acquisition to far. Prior to the 2024–2025 season, the 26-year-old was under contract at Oldham Athletic.

However, as demonstrated by Mark Shelton’s move to Barnet, this does not guarantee he will stay, and it is unclear if he was let go on a free transfer or for an undisclosed fee.

Jack Hunter from Halifax Town and Luke Charman from AFC Fylde have already been confirmed by Hartlepool, and Sheron is expected to be the second midfield player to sign with the team before the new campaign begins.

How did Sheron fair last season?

Sheron made 44 appearances in the National League alone last season as a regular first-team member for Oldham Athletic, tallying six goals and dishing out another assist.

Over the course of the season, the midfield player started 38 of the 44 league games and averaged a 78% passing success rate, 4.2 interceptions, and nine ball recoveries per 90 minutes.

Further experience added to the Hartlepool midfield

After a hectic post-season in which a number of players, notably Tom Crawford and Josh Umerah, left the team due to expiring contracts, Darren Sarll’s team has started their summer hiring.

In an attempt to help the Pools team score more goals, Luke Charman joins the attack. In the meantime, Jack Hunter, who contributed to Halifax Town’s play-off spot the previous season, will be hoping to improve in his new surroundings.

The Oldham Times reports that Nathan Sheron is anticipated to join Darren Sarll’s team in order to provide the football team more experience before the upcoming season.

With Sheron joining Hartlepool ahead of the 2024–2025 season, the football team will have more depth and experience after losing multiple midfielders earlier this summer.
