Newcastle now interested in brilliant £50m player

Lloyd Kelly is on his way to Newcastle United, but they would still like to add another centre defender.

On July 1st, the 25-year-old is scheduled to sign a contract with Newcastle United.

Eddie Howe is expected to bring in a player that he has previously worked with and feels he can improve upon.

Although Lloyd Kelly is a wise addition to the Newcastle team, other defenders may also be brought to St James’ Park. The Magpies had thought to be signing Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer at first, but they also want a right-sided centre defender.

Although Toon officials were optimistic about closing a deal, the 26-year-old was signed by Chelsea.

Newcastle will now have to turn their attention elsewhere, and it seems they are keeping a careful eye on the England team participating in Euro 2024.

Newcastle interested in Marc Guehi

Kieran Trippier and Marc Guehi of Crystal Palace were both a member of the back four that blanked Serbia on Sunday.

Guehi, who excelled as one of England’s players in Gelsenkirchen, is reportedly considering leaving Crystal Palace.

Guehi is reportedly being pursued by Newcastle United and Arsenal for a summer deal, according to Caught Offside. According to the source, both teams may submit a preliminary offer for the 23-year-old, who is valued at £50 million by Palace.

Newcastle and Arsenal are said to think it is excessive, but there’s also the added benefit that Guehi is willing to leave Selhurst Park, according to Caught Offside.

Guehi would be an amazing signing for Newcastle amid England heroics

Guehi would be a valuable addition to Newcastle. After watching his performance for England on Sunday, Toon supporters would undoubtedly welcome him with wide arms. He is a player that Dan Ashworth wanted at St. James’ Park.

Despite many concerns about his inclusion, Jude Bellingham described the defender as “brilliant” and said he played with a genuine sense of composure against Serbia. He exuded confidence and calmness when in control, exactly what Newcastle will be searching for in a new signing who they most certainly anticipate will be their long-term successor for Fabian Schar.

Though he is also capable of playing as the left-sided center-back, Guehi might take that position. Gareth Southgate is using him there for England, and that is where he plays for Palace.

Newcastle move would be a shock this summer

Even though Guehi would be a great addition to Newcastle, it is unlikely that he will make the move to Tyneside.

Although Newcastle hopes to spend less than £50 million, the exact amount that the Magpies will have to pay is still unknown. Additionally, it appears that the majority of the summer transfer budget will be used to acquire a winger, as Toon authorities are attempting to sign £60 million player Michael Olise.

That might make it more difficult for Newcastle to spend heavily on a player like Guehi, whose value could skyrocket if he performs well at Euro 2024.

Signing a guy like Guehi would be fantastic, but right now it seems unrealistic.
