Charlton Athletic Set To Secure Deal For Exciting Scotsman

According to Richard Cawley, Scottish defender Josh Edwards is getting a physical before joining Charlton Athletic.

The 17-year-old defender was released from Kilmarnock’s youth system and joined Crosshouse Community, his neighborhood boys club, after spending time in both teams’ youth departments.

In his debut campaign, the Scotsman found it difficult to establish himself on the squad. Nevertheless, Edwards made 31 appearances for the Pars the next season, solidifying his place in the squad even though he was still without a senior football goal.

He scored two goals and made over 40 appearances for Dunfermline during the 2021–2022 season, when this goal was scored. Although Edwards had a successful season, the Pars’ campaign did not go as planned as they were demoted from the Scottish Championship.

After returning to Scottish League One, the defender excelled, tallying two goals and dishing out five assists to enable his team to return to the Scottish second division for the first time since asking.

The 24-year-old’s finest season to date was definitely the previous one. Kilmarnock-born player participated in 36 league games, tallying three goals and eight assists.
