According to reporter Alan Nixon on his Patreon, Bradford City is eager to get Tyreik Wright, a no winger for Plymouth Argyle, back to the team.
Bradford City hopes to improve their chances of winning promotion from League Two once more, and they have a busy summer transfer window ahead of them.
The Bantams showed some encouraging moments and strung together some strong runs to climb the League Two standings. Next season, they ought to be discussing at the top of the division with some new faces and increased consistency.
It has now been reported that they are eager to see a familiar face again this summer. Reporter Alan Nixon reports on his Patreon that Tyreik Wright, a winger, is eager to return to Bradford City, either permanently or temporarily.
In January, Wright, 22, went back on loan for a second stint with Plymouth Argyle, a Championship team, where he was having trouble getting playing time. In 14 league games, he netted twice, bringing his total for the team to six goals and two assists in 32 appearances. The report also states that Wright is aware he would receive minutes with the Bantams despite having other interests.
Best for Wright?
It appears doubtful that he receives consistent playing time there as long as Plymouth Argyle is still in the Championship. Naturally, Wayne Rooney’s appointment as manager will likely present him with a chance to make an impression during the preseason. It is possible that the new boss, Wright included, will seek to evaluate everyone in his ranks.
But if he does have the option to leave Home Park, Bradford City would be a possible destination. After two loan stints, he has been well acquainted with the team, and with Alexander offering significant playing time, this could be the ideal environment for him to resume his career after a few disappointing seasons. It will be interesting to see if Wright attracts any further interest and someone else steps in to take his place.
Loan or permanent
Wright’s contract with the Plymouth Argyles is not publicly known, which may have an effect on whether he is permitted to leave for good or returns for a limited time.
For the Irishman, the latter option might be perfect as it would allow him to establish a permanent residence and pursue opportunities abroad. It also seemed plausible considering his standing among the Pilgrims.
Though Argyle might still send him out on loan if his contract is still valid for more than a year in order to give himself the option of staying longer in the future. Bradford City will undoubtedly monitor any changes closely.
It appears that the Bantams will be aiming to bring Wright back again this summer, regardless of the deal that is offered.
